The Audi R8 LMS GT2 will make its U.S. debut in California this weekend at the annual Monterey Car Week, following its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year. The latest model from Audi Sport incorporates learnings from Audi drivers and race teams. The R8 LMS GT2 is available now for customer orders.
Featuring the highest specification of the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter engine, which generates 640 horsepower (470 kW), the Audi R8 LMS GT2 is the most powerful racecar Audi Sport customer racing has developed. Joining the Audi Sport customer-racing lineup, which includes GT3 and GT4, the R8 LMS GT2 is designed for a new formula of Grand Touring racing that will cater to track enthusiasts who have been the backbone of GT racing for decades. The GT2 is the ideal sports car for fielding races in the new GT2 category that will be introduced in 2020, as well as being suitable for track days and events at resorts and clubs, which enjoy increasing popularity among customers worldwide.

Audi will celebrate its long and successful tradition of motorsport at the annual Monterey Car Week. On Friday, Aug. 16, the R8 LMS GT2 will make its U.S. debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, a world-renowned motorsports event featuring some of the world's finest and rarest automobiles from the past and present.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, the R8 LMS GT2 will also be on display at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion hosted at Laguna Seca. In the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to watch as nine-time Le Mans winner, Tom Kristensen, takes the R8 LMS GT2 for a tour around the famed track. On Sunday, Aug. 18, the GT2 will be on display on the concept lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Alongside the R8 LMS GT2, Audi will have on display the R8 V10 performance Spyder, the pinnacle of performance for Audi. Featuring the same naturally aspirated V10 engine found in the R8 LMS racecar, the R8 is the best representation of how the production models benefit from developments and technologies first used in motorsport. The R8 V10 performance Spyder, with its 5.2-liter V10 engine and seven-speed S-tronic(R) dual-clutch transmission, accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top track speed of 204 mph.
The most powerful version of the Audi R8 LMS, selling for a price of $398,000, is now available for customer orders through the Audi Sport customer racing team, with deliveries beginning in January 2020. From the 2020 season on, they will be able to compete in the new GT2 class that will open up a new stage in racing to the world's most beautiful super sports cars.
