The market for large SUVs has exploded and Toyota had no equivalent to the Expedition/Navigator and Tahoe/Yukon. Toyota's answer to Ford and GM is the new 8-passenger Sequoia, based on the full-size Tundra pickup. The Sequoia, powered by a ULEV certified 240-bhp 4.7L V8, is slotted between the 4Runner and Land Cruiser in the Toyota lineup. Traction control, Vehicle Skid Control (VSC), and ABS are standard. Pricing ranges from $30,815 (4x2 SR5) to $42,275 (4x4 Limited). The Sequoia goes on sale November 1.
