The M3 Convertible is the rare combination of spine-tingling performance coupled with open-air driving. The latest-generation M3 adopts the 3-piece hardtop convertible mechanism introduced in the standard 3-Series. It shares the same 414-bhp/295 lb.-ft. 4.0L V-8 as the M3 Coupe, mated to 6-speed manual or a new 7-speed double-clutch gearbox. Performance claims include: 0-100 km/h (62.5 MPH) in 5.3 seconds, and top speed of 250 km/h (155 MPH). BMW also added MDrive, which allows the driver to set the vehicle power, suspension, steering, and stability control to his preferences. Suspension tuning is unique to the M3 Convertible. Braking is via ventilated front and rear cast-iron discs: 14.2" diameter (front) and 13.8" diameter (rear). Fat 245/40R18 (front) and 265/40R18 (rear) tires are mounted 18-inch alloy wheels. The M3 continues to use the limited-slip M Differential Lock to ensure maximum rear traction. An extensive option list includes a 16-speaker audio system with 825 watts, special paint colors, unique leather upholstery, electronic damper control (EDC), adaptive headlights, and the iDrive multimedia controller system.
