This latest evolution of the Murcielago has all the subtlety of a jet fighter, which is exactly the imagery Lamborghini intends with the glossy but drably painted LP 640. The Murcielago's normally silver-hued alloy wheels are painted gloss black, while the interior is finished in black leather, suede, and carbon-fiber. It is unclear if this color scheme is intended as a standard production option, or for the show car only. Performance enhancements include a larger 6.5L V-12 that cranks out 640-bhp/660 N-m (487 lb.-ft.). A 6-speed manual (an e-gear automatic is optional) sends power to the standard AWD system. The Murcielago LP 640 has a revised exterior design with different lower scoops, new taillights, and a redesigned rear lower fascia with a single exhaust outlet. According to Lamborghini, the LP 640 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds on its way to a 340 km/h (211 mph) top speed.
