BMW is expanding its lineup of utility vehicles to include the 5-Series Gran Turismo. The Gran Turismo is a 5-door hatchback with a dual-hinged tailgate and seating for five. Despite the 5-series name, the Gran Turismo is dimensionally identical to the short wheelbase 7-Series sedan. A number of engines are offered worldwide including the 4.4L V8 turbo found in the 7-Series and BMW's ubiquitous 3.0L inline six.
The 7-Series will add V12 powered 760Li model to the lineup. All 750 and 750Li models will offer optional all-wheel-drive. A new M Sport appearance package updates the looks of the 7-Series, but leaves the powertrain unchanged.
